The Housekeeper

A comedy by James Prideaux

Director Mary Ellen Mathers

A Dogwood Actors Guild Production

It is offbeat, delightfully zany comedy deals with the unlikely involvement which develops between a middle-aged rather stuffy bachelor and the eccentric bag lady he hires as a housekeep.

August 8, 9, 14 & 15

The Taming of Judge Roy Bean

Comedy by Pat Cook

Director Dick Bolen

Auditions to be announced.

Production Dates Dinner August 8-9 and  Play-only 14-15

Set in West Texas in the 1800s was wild, lawless and rife with robbers. That suited Judge Roy Bean down to his sock. When he reads a dime novel about Buffalo Bill, he figures his story should be told as well. Farcical situations and wisecracks fly as fast as ricocheting bullets in this hilarious spoof of western justice “Yep,” says the Judge,“this will put the fun back in funeral.”

What does an Arts Center mean to an City.

Since its inception in 1984, we have seen a generation come and go through our doors. As actors, artists, writers they had a place to learn and showcase their ability and/or a place to meet people and make friends.

  • For people who are relocating, an Arts Center is an important incentive to settle, especially a Center that promotes as a mission “hands on participation in theatre, music, literature and visual arts for all ages".
  • An Arts Center well-supported by the members businesses and cooperations shows a community that values the arts in everyday quality of life.
  • All that you have given to the Center has been 10 times reinvested back into the local economy.
  • We ask you to help us continue reaching out to all generations by contributing to the Center with a tax-deductible underwriting of programs, donations and in doing so “Invest in your Community.”

Thank you.
